Immerse yourself in all you do 💫

When someone or something is important you immerse yourself in it. You dive deep to reveal the buried treasures. It doesn’t mean you won’t have to navigate through the mucky waters... you will. It’s in that discomfort that you find the magic. It’s in our darkness that we reveal more light. I want to share a few things that I do to help me find my breath again when I feel like I’m drowning.

Water: I consume water more than anything else. I love water. I love drinking it... I carry a big jug around usually to make sure I’ve had enough for the day. I love soaking in long baths. I love how refreshing the mere beauty of a body of water is. I think I was a 🧜🏼‍♀️ at some point! 🙋🏼‍♀️

😂 Water lubricates your joints and gives tremendous benefits physically and mentally. It allows your body to move more fluidly. There is a reason “Water” is the necessity of life. Don’t downplay it’s importance. What we have within is what we exude on the outside. It will give you the glow you’ve been looking for.

Food: I try my best to eat healthy and most importantly to eat when my body tells me to. I dont eat just because I’ve been taught to have 3 big meals a day or sometimes people are taught 6 small meals for weight loss and so forth. I do what feels good for me. I do what makes me feel fueled and energized. Ps. For my LA people @80percent_nutrition is the meal prep service I use and it’s absolutely delicious. I have tried a few different ones and nothing tastes as good as these meals and they make me happy looking at them lol which is important. Also please have the cookie... the chips... the pizza...the pasta... the ice cream. Don’t deprive yourself of things that you love. We deserve treats. Enjoy it and don’t beat yourself up about it.

Movement: Listen to your body. This was one I’ve had to really practice. I would just go go go and continue to push through everything. It didn’t matter how much pain I was feeling I had to workout. Yes it helps my mental state tremendously but I also started to notice that I was picking myself apart. Sometimes I was doing it because I was judging myself and felt I was being lazy if I didn’t. I needed to have this perfect body but to be honest what is perfect? Everyone has an opinion so which one is right? Social media has been a huge problem in promoting this. Am I skinny enough? Curvy enough? Does my butt look good? Are my boobs nice? I’m learning more and more everyday to just love what I have. Trust me it’s a battle that you have to practice everyday. I just got tired of living up to peoples expectations of what I’m “supposed to look like” it’s exhausting and it actually feels good to finally have made peace with that. Movement is powerful. It doesn’t have to be strategic as a matter of fact free flowing is my absolute favorite and this is why I love to Dance! Dancing is a journey with your soul. It’s a connection to your spirit. It’s a way to spread light to everyone around you. It’s a joyful meditation. So put on some music and move. It doesn’t matter how you look this is a judgement free zone. It’s purely to feel how amazing you and your body are.

Breathwork: this is something I’ve thoroughly enjoyed practicing. It’s not fun all the time. It brings up heavy shit and you actually connect to where the pain lies in your physical body. Some days I want to stop in the middle of the practice and it’s those days I know I need it most. Other days I feel exhilarating and energized. Connection with our breath is one of the most important things we can do. When you are feeling overwhelmed stop for a second and take a deep breath in through your nose, hold at the top for a few moments, and exhale slowly. Do this as many times as you need and you will feel a sense of calmness take over. Don’t rush... everything in life will still be there when you are finished. You deserve to give yourself these moments of relaxation

Meditation 🧘🏼‍♀️: this is another practice that can feel frustrating. It’s a practice that takes a lot of effort. It takes patience with yourself. It takes the desire to connect with yourself. When you connect with yourself you learn how to best connect with others. We are just as important as our friends, spouse, family etc. Connection with self is the most vital connection we can make and often we overlook it. We are searching vigorously for answers outside of us when it’s the questions we ask ourselves that bring us the greatest solutions. Why do we want these things? What is the actual root to what we are longing for? What do we fear? What is our desire? Why do we need these things? What are we expecting these things to give us? There are so many questions we can ask ourselves to gain the clarity we need but most importantly it’s giving ourselves the actual space to receive the answers.

Im sharing what works for me but that doesn’t mean it will be the same path for you. There are many paths we can take to get to the same feeling of joy. I hope that you find those things that make you feel good. I hope you find more time to bring peace into your environment. I hope you know that you actually have the time to do so and to stop making excuses for your mental/physical health. Health is wealth and love is always the answer. The more love we give and receive the more benefits we reveal. The lighter and brighter we feel. Take time for YOU! Do what makes your heart happy and dont apologize for it. You don’t owe anyone anything. This is your life. You have to live it the best way that suits you. Find meaning in everything you do. Find your passion even when you have to do a daunting task. We all have to do things we don’t want to do and we will face trials no matter what. This is life. It’s how we choose to face them that matters. It’s finding our own way of coping that brings us a sense of stillness and tranquility even in the darkest of moments that matters the most. It’s continuing to give love to yourself so you can expand that love and light exponentially to all of those around you! You matter and so does your life. Don’t forget it.

Until next time,

Sending Love and light to all!
